会计期间（Accounting Period/Fiscal Period）是指在会计工作中,为核算经营活动或预算执行情况所规定的起讫期间。会计期间主要是确定会计年度,会计年度也是财政年度、预算年度。《中华人民共和国会计法》规定:会计年度自公历1月1日起至12月31日止会计年度根据国家的不同情况而定,可以采用历年制,即日历年制,从每年1月1日至12月31日为一个会计年度,也可以不采用历年制,如采用7月制,从每年7月1日起至下年6月30日止为一个会计年度;还有采用4月制的,从每年4月1日起至下年3月31日止为一个会计年度。会计年度确定之后,一般还要确定会计月度和季度。
